Overcoming Your Anxiety Attack Symptoms

Anxiety is basically a physiological and psychological state characterized by somatic, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional components. Everybody experiences anxiety once in a while. Some people get anxious when they are threatened. Others experience anxiety when an important event is nearing. While anxiety is part of our human nature, too much of it is unhealthy, disturbing, and harmful. When a person experiences anxiety, his body produces adrenaline that helps him fight or flee. However, when there is really nothing to be anxious about, the anxiety that he feels can result in an anxiety attack. Anxiety attack symptoms can be physical, mental, or emotional.

Also, anxiety attack is different from other disorders. It can occur and reoccur without warning. Some of its physical effects are heart palpitations, tension, headaches, fatigue, and nausea. Most of the time, it is also accompanied by depression. Sufferers of these symptoms often think that they are actually suffering from more serious illnesses. So, they go to the hospital only to find out that there is really nothing wrong with their system. Overcoming anxiety is, in reality, a process that involves awareness and determination. Those who experience anxiety attacks need to be aware of their anxiety's sources. They also have to be determined to overcome this disorder.

Overcome anxiety attacks

One way to overcome anxiety attacks is through relaxation. A person has to relax his body and mind. He has to clear his mind of disruptive thoughts and only focus on pleasant thoughts. He also has to apply the proper breathing techniques. He can relax his muscles, as well. Then, he must let go of his worries and pains. This step is vital because worries often cause fears that result to anxiety. Furthermore, he must stop agonizing over the future. Life has so many uncertainties; and if he wants to remain sane, he just has to live with it. Constant worrying will only lead to anxiety attacks.

Treatment

There are several treatments for panic disorder that don't require medication.
